In my humble opinion, I really got value out of the fees I paid Pedder. It was particularly interesting to be able to compare Pedder to my sellers' online agents who were far less competent, less contactable, less involved and far less easy to deal with. And far worse value for the sellers, if you catch my drift!

I feel the fees payable to agents are too high, and I am hoping government legislation will fix/eliminate excessive fees. Fees make it very difficult, even impossible, for young people, often on very limited incomes, to be able to rent. They mostly have to resort to private landlords who are unpoliced and may be letting substandard, dangerous accommodation. High fees act as a barrier for everyone to have access to decent accommodation. Landlords should be the ones paying most of the costs, rather than agencies profiting from both landlords and renters. I accept that some fees are inevitable and necessary (checking references for example), but the inventory/check in fee seems ludicrous.
