I would never use this letting agency again and I would definitely not recommend them to anyone. I wish we had read reviews about them before we signed the contract as every single review I have seen about them is terrible. To start, they would let themselves into the property whenever they wanted, to do inspections and carry out work. They would notify you they were coming, but gave a time frame of between âMonday to fridayâ which is useless. We had a major problem with homeless people squatting at the back of our property and injecting themselves with drugs, at one point they tried to climb over the wall into our property, and the agency said because it wasn't their land, it wasn't their problem and they were going to do nothing about it, and to ring someone else. We were scared to be in the flat in case they broke in. We rang the agency several times about this and they just said it's not their problem. Also, the shower continually broke throughout the year. The switch would emit a burning fishy smell every time we used it. They would supposedly come and fix it and about a week later it would happen again. The toilet also continually broke. At one point we were without the use of a toilet for over 24 hours because no one came to look at it until after that. There was also a disgusting urine smell coming from the flat next door as they had a cat, which was made worse by the confined space of the hall. We rang up about this to see what they could do and they said nothing. Every time we left or entered our property we would be faced with the smell as our front doors were next to each other. We had to spend our own money continually buying air fresheners to try and mask the smell, which was no success. It has taken well over a month to get back to us about our deposit, even though they were quick enough at the start of the year to hold their hand out to get our money off us. Our property was left in a perfect condition, and us getting our full deposit back has shown this, so why it has taken this long to get our deposit back is ridiculous.
Comment on agent fees
After my experience this year and the quality of the facilities, at most I would pay £85 a week. I know people who lived in much nicer accommodation in the same area and paid £100 where as we paid £115 a week.
