House Tree were very prompt in putting my house on the market, and supplied a board, and photographer to take photos and details of the house quickly. Visits were organised quickly and I was given text and email details of visits booked. These were positive points of House Tree.
On the negative side, the 'for sale' sign only lasted a couple of weeks before the board fell off the post, and when it came to negotiating a price with potential buyers, I didn't find them very informative. In fact when a sale price had been agreed with the buyers, House Tree forgot to ring and inform me. I only found out the following week. When I told them they had not phoned me, they didn't apologise, which I thought was bad. Once the sale was agreed, House Tree didn't have any further involvement in the process that I could see, which was a lot less helpful than other estate agents I was dealing with in the chain.
One other point; I paid the fee which included the solicitors fees, and naively thought there would not be a solicitors bill (or a minimal one) as a result. This didn't prove to be the case, as I still got a bill of >£500 for additional expenses.
I am sure that using an Internet estate agent does save money, but I believe it did reduce the quality of the service I received .

Thank you for the review and congratulations on selling your property with House Tree.

Very sorry to hear you had a few issues in the process. Unfortunately we had some really bad weather with very high winds back in January which damaged several of our boards and I know we discussed erecting a new board on the 28th January.

In regards to your offer I can see that on the 7th April we received an offer on your property and a voicemail was left for you on the same day, on the following day we discussed the offer with you and were also negotiating the price with your potential buyer. i'm sorry that you thought we had forgetting your offer but please be assured this was not the case.

On the 10th April a sale was agreed and a Home Buyers Report was due to be booked in. We then had to wait for the Home Buyers Report to come back, once received we were in email correspondence with yourself and the buyer to sort out the issues raised.

Your buyers were then on holiday so potential exchange/completion dates were discussed between ourselves and the solicitors to ensure when they arrived back a date had been confirmed.

Sorry that you feel the service was not up to the standard you expected and we will take your feedback on to improve our service for future customers.

I found the viewing appalling, for multiple clients to be booked at the same time is just not on. To have to wait whilst other clients looked around then watch whist other clients formed a queue behind, to view a property in a rush is not the way to go about things. Dear Mr Bulman, I'm very sorry to see that your sale was far from smooth. You were extremely unlucky to have your buyer pull out so close to completion. Its frustrating for everyone involved when a buyer pulls out last minute. Unfortunately due to UK law no one is ever tied into the purchase until exchange of contracts happens, normally just a week before completion.
