The service that I received was professional and helpful,it was a nerve wrecking experience giving up my home for rent made easy by the people I dealt with.
Comment on agent fees
I feel the inventory should be part of the initial fees and an additional charge shouldn't be made....the VAT on all charges is also a drain on an otherwise good income. I don't fully understand the amount being charged in the first month and struggle to see how this amount is justified...a breakdown maybe helpful to future customers,unfortunately this fee is the same for most sales and letting agents.However,these fees are competitive and I did receive a 50% discount on either the first months rent or 50% off the monthly fee,usually 10% reduced to 5%.Beresfords are the best in terms of other sales and lettings agents fees. Together with friendly staff and good service,they are the right agent to use.

Many thanks for taking the time to provide some feedback. I'm pleased that you found our service both professional and helpful.
I just wanted to respond on a couple of points that you have made. We employ our own Inventory Clerks who compile very detailed reports (most extending to more than 50 pages) including lots of photo's. This is a critical document and will greatly assist should a dispute of any kind arise between landlord and tenants. The costs applied are merely a contribution and would not cover the entire time taken to produce the report. The balance is absorbed as part of our main intial fees and the tenants themselves make a small contribution. Unfortunately we cannot do anything about the VAT. Every established company within the UK are required to pay this to the Government. However we do try to remain competitive on our fees but without compramising our service and as you have stated we appeared to be the most suitable choice from all other local agents!
