I think estate agent fees in general are too high. Castles were no more expensive than any others. But now that house prices are so rediculously high maybe the fee should be 0.5%?

Tenant Fees

Tenant Fees and Permitted Payments

* Holding deposits - a maximum of 1 week’s rent

* Deposits - a maximum deposit of 5 week’s rent for annual rent below £50,000, or 6 week’s rent for annual rental of £50,000 and above

* Payments for a Variation or Change to a tenancy agreement - £50 inclusive of VAT

* Payments associated with early termination of a tenancy – capped at the landlord’s loss or the agent’s reasonably incurred costs

* Utilities, communication services ( e.g. telephone, broadband) TV licence, council tax

* Interest payments for the late payment of rent – can be charged up to 3% over the Bank of England base rate

* Reasonable costs for the replacement f lost keys or other security devices.
