I went yesterday with my sister at the Crystal Palace branch of the company in the attempt to receive an advice and to look for a place to rent within that area. We have been told to wait to speak with one of the members of the letting team - a man , unfortunately I don't remember his name as all this happened so quickly. We told him that we are looking for a studio or a 1 bedroom to share and that we currently are on a tight budget, as only one of us is working ( the other one studying) and that we can't spend more than 1,000 pm for rent - this is when his face changed in a sarcastic smirk .
He responded that since we are not partners it's impossible to get a studio , we need to get 2 bedroom flat and period. That if we were partners, then the landlords will be afraid to discriminate ...I've then told him that if this is the case, in my point of view people are discriminating blood relationships as well as we are sisters and there is nothing wrong in sharing a room .
In that moment the individual just stormed away from the meeting and left wishing us a good day . We felt humiliated in that moment- we are two sisters, rather new to London and with no glamorous financial status and he treated us in worst way possible. Is not the job of a professional adviser to show at least empathy for a person in difficulty ? Or probably he doesn't even know the meaning of the word!
This kind of people ruin the imagine of this real estate agency and I deeply won't recommend this branch!!!!
