Bridgfords is an absolute disgrace of an agency, and I seriously discourage anyone from ever using them. How they are still in business I really don't know, possibly from the extortionate fees they charge and ripping off pretty much all their customers?
After initially paying the holding fee for the property (which was far, FAR too much), we were told that as long as our guarantor paperwork went through fine, the property would be ours and we wouldn't have to worry about anything.
Weeks went by without us receiving any forms or paperwork. Though we called nearly every day for several weeks, either no suitable person was available to talk to or we were constantly told that we would receive an email shortly only to receive nothing. This caused a lot of stress as I had given my notice of leave into work and needed to move out of my previous accommodation by a certain date.
After weeks of pursuing, we finally received something, only for it to be the wrong form! With only one week left until our move in date, we were extremely worried and continued calling to try and get the correct forms.
Exactly one week before we were supposed to move in, as we rang to try and sort the forms out, we were told the current tenants had decided to renew their contract and that we could no longer move in! - We didn't receive a single apology and the staff were still extremely rude!
We tried to ask why no-one had bothered to ring us and let us know. If we didn't ring the agency, who knows when we would have found out. The agency apparently had known about this for a few days - Why weren't we told?
Overall, the customer service was disgusting. Staff spoke to us like something they had stepped in. I have spoken to other agencies regarding our experience and they were shocked to say the least. With only a week before we were supposed to move in, it was completely wrong to simply cancel on us after we had already paid the fees and not even bother to let us know!
After complaining to the agency, we were told that they did actually ring me to let me know, though we thoroughly checked our phone records and I'm 100% sure we received no calls from them!
Please avoid Bridgfords at all costs! ¢â‚¬â€œ You will regret using them.
