Exorbitant. In my case, Choices company director emailed that the Office of Fair trading and The Property Ombudsman have asked Choices to agree a fair fee to release clients from the terms of their contract. However, in practice Choices have not set a standard fee for this option, and in my case the fee was exorbitant, but worth every penny as I am so relieved that I no longer have to deal with them.

The fees seemed reasonable when considering the wider market. The holding deposit was one of the lowest we had experienced through our searches. We have not heard anything about the existence of any cleaning fees for the future when we leave the property but we will approach this as the time comes.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
